Embroidery Process
During the process of deciding on two main textiles specialism I decided to focus mostly on screen printing and outsource professional level of embroidery as I was keen on working a little extra on my pattern cutting skills for this project and play with proportions and curves. In order to outsource authentic Pakistani embroidery to give an eastern aspect to my collection, I planned a visit to my home city Lahore, Pakistan. After doing some research through my contacts I managed to find a professional embroider who already works for a well known Pakistani designer Hina Butt. As the embroider had no knowledge of stitching or pattern cutting his only job was to do embroidery which meant I had to transfer the outline of my garment patterns onto my final fabrics without cutting it out in order for the embroider to stretch the fabric onto the frame as shown in the images below.
